The American Revolution: From Protection To Revolutionary Movement
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. No different than most other wars, the American Revolution began as the result of a quest for independence and freedom from oppressive rule. British North American colonists were content with being loyal to their homeland; it was only after British rule began enforcing unnecessary and unreasonable demands that the colonists vehemently opposed such treatment. The writer discusses that what started out as an attempt to protect and restore the rights of freeborn Englishmen soon developed into a revolutionary movement that culminated in the founding of a republic. Alexander Hamilton And Aaron Burr: Relationship Before The Duel
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. One could never call Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr friendly. Their rivalry began virtually from the moment each man knew of the other's existence. Hamilton despised everything that Burr represented, including his charismatic style. As a means by which to demonstrate his contempt, Hamilton saw to it that Burr lost out to Thomas Jefferson for the presidency, instead arranging for him to occupy the position of vice president. The writer discusses how this was one of the many final straws that ultimately led up to their infamous duel. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

“Factories in the Field”: A Review of the Book by Carey McWilliams
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page overview of the agricultural history of California. This author traces this history from the Spanish land grant to the early half of the twentieth century. Central to the tremendous development which occurred was the migrant worker, groups of which McWilliams describes as the “wake of a machine”. The industry of thousands of workers, some white, some yellow, some brown, is what has fueled California’s great corporate expansion into agriculture. It is that industry to which California should be the most beholding. The picture revealed by McWilliams, however, is not one of gratitude, it is instead one of monopolization and domination.
